What to Know About the Safety of Chiropractic Care

Written By Back 2 Health Chiropractic TN LLC on April 27, 2023

Chiropractic Care

Anyone who hasn’t been to a chiropractor before may have questions about whether chiropractic treatments are safe, effective, and worth their time. In fact, chiropractic care is one of the safest, least invasive treatment methods, and is often far less risky and dangerous than traditional medical treatments like surgery and prescription drugs. Discover the safety and effectiveness of visiting our Lebanon chiropractor.

Chiropractic Care is Holistic

Chiropractors practice holistic healthcare, which focuses on the whole body and the interconnectedness of each part. Our chiropractor can offer diagnoses and treatments of conditions affecting your physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health. Rather than throwing drugs at your symptoms to see what works, our chiropractor will take the time to uncover the underlying issue causing your symptoms and treat the associated and resulting symptoms that have occurred because of your initial problem.

Chiropractic Care Undergoes Scientific Study

Before our chiropractor recommends a treatment to a patient, it must undergo rigorous scientific and medical testing to ensure it’s safe and meets the standards of care for the specific condition or symptoms it is meant to treat. Once our chiropractor determines your underlying condition, he will recommend the least invasive, safest, and most effective treatment method for you.

Chiropractors Complete Extensive Education

In order to become a chiropractor, a student must first complete a four-year undergraduate degree. They must then attend a chiropractic college, where they complete four to six years of rigorous academic study and training. In their last year as a student, they complete a clinical internship under the instruction of an experienced chiropractor. Many students also complete an additional internship at a hospital or veterans’ clinic. Some students complete additional courses in specialized areas of study, like sports medicine or rehabilitation. After graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, each student must pass a series of examinations administered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and then obtain licensure in the state in which they want to practice.
